What this site collects, why, who helps us run it, and the choices you have.
The short version
We collect what you send us through the contact form, plus basic technical information that our hosting provider and other service providers record when you visit. We may use analytics cookies to understand how the site is used, and you can turn them off at any time. We do not sell your personal information.
Who is responsible
Caleb Long, LLC, which owns and operates this website, decides how the information described here is handled. To reach us about privacy, use the contact form on our homepage.
What we collect
- What you send us. When you use the contact form: your name, email address, cell phone number, company, title, and your message.
- Client portal. If you are a client we have invited to The Forge, our client portal: your name and email address, a record of when you sign in, the answers you and your team type into questionnaires, including who changed each answer and when, comments you leave on documents, and, when you sign a document electronically, the name and title you type, the time, your email address, your network (IP) address, and your browser type, kept as the record of your signature. Please do not put patient or other sensitive personal information about third parties into the portal.
- Technical information. When you visit, your browser automatically sends information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request, the page that referred you, and the time. Our hosting provider and the services that deliver parts of the page record this.
- Usage information. If analytics are running and you have not turned them off, information about how you use the site, such as pages viewed and time spent, collected through cookies or similar technologies. See our cookie policy.
- Your settings. Your light or dark theme choice and your cookie choice, stored in your own browser. If you sign in to The Forge, your browser also keeps your sign-in session.
How we use it
- to reply to you and prepare for a conversation you asked for
- to provide services you engage us for, and keep records of that work
- to run, secure, and improve the site, and to understand how it is used
- to comply with the law and protect our rights
Service providers
We use other companies to run the site. They receive information only as needed to provide their service to us, and some also handle it under their own privacy policies.
- Netlify hosts the site, records standard server logs, and receives and stores contact form submissions.
- Adobe Fonts delivers the site's typeface. Your browser connects to Adobe's servers, which receive your IP address and basic request information.
- Cloudflare (cdnjs) delivers the code that runs the site's animations. Your browser connects to Cloudflare's servers, which receive your IP address and basic request information.
- Our email provider receives a copy of each contact form submission so we can reply.
- Supabase runs the sign-in and database for The Forge, our client portal, and stores invited clients' names, email addresses, questionnaire answers, documents, comments, and signature records in the United States.
- Resend sends The Forge's sign-in emails, so it receives the email address each one goes to.
- jsDelivr delivers the code The Forge uses to connect to Supabase. Your browser connects to its servers, which receive your IP address and basic request information.
- Analytics providers we may add in the future. They will only receive information if your cookie setting allows it, and we will name them here when we add them.
When we share it
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers above, when the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our business. If we ever use information for targeted advertising, we will update this policy first and honor your opt-out choice.
Cookies
We do not show a cookie pop-up. Instead, analytics cookies can be turned off at any time with the switch in the footer of every page or on our cookie policy page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out.
How long we keep it
Messages and the information in them, and questionnaire answers in The Forge, are kept while there is an active conversation or engagement, and then for as long as we need them for our records or the law requires. Server logs and analytics data are kept for the periods set by the providers above.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, and our providers encrypt traffic to and from the site. No method of storing or sending information online is completely secure.
Your choices and rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, using the contact form on our homepage. We may need to confirm it is you before we act. Depending on where you live, including several US states, you may have further rights, such as opting out of certain uses of your information. We will honor them and will not treat you differently for using them.
Where it is stored
Our providers store information in the United States and in other countries where they operate. By using the site, you understand your information may be processed outside your country.
Children
This site is for businesses and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
